Planning your Wedding

What Wedding Type Best Suits Your Style and Guest Count?.

Choosing your wedding type and size is the first step that needs to happen to get the ball rolling in planning your wedding and it can be hard to determine what you want!

Where to Start?

The type of wedding that best fits your style and guest size will depend on a number of factors, including your budget, your personal preferences, and the time of year you're getting married.

If you're on a tight budget, you may want to consider a smaller wedding with a more intimate atmosphere. This could be a backyard wedding, a wedding at a small venue, or even a elopement wedding. If you're looking for a more traditional wedding, you may want to consider a larger wedding with a more formal atmosphere. This could be a wedding at a large venue, church or a large hall.

No matter what type of wedding you choose, it's important to make sure that it reflects your personal style. If you're a fan of the outdoors, you may want to consider a garden wedding. If you're a fan of the arts, you may want to consider a wedding at a museum or art gallery. And if you're a fan of the beach, you may want to consider a wedding on the beach.

The time of year you're getting married can also play a role in the type of wedding you choose. If you're getting married during the summer, you may want to consider an outdoor wedding. If you're getting married during the winter, you may want to consider an indoor wedding.

No matter what type of wedding you choose, it's important to remember that the most important thing is to celebrate your love with your closest friends and family. So relax, have fun, and enjoy your special day!

Here are some additional tips for choosing the right wedding type for you:

  • Consider your budget. How much money do you have to spend on your wedding? This will help you narrow down your options and choose a wedding that fits your budget.

  • Think about your personal style. What kind of wedding do you envision for yourself? Do you want a traditional wedding, a casual wedding, or something in between?

  • Consider the time of year you're getting married. The time of year can affect the type of wedding you choose. For example, if you're getting married during the summer, you may want to consider an outdoor wedding.

  • Talk to your partner. What kind of wedding does your partner want? It's important to choose a wedding that you're both happy with.

With a little planning, you can easily choose the perfect wedding type for you and your partner.

Wedding Types and Why I love each

LOCAL WEDDING

Local weddings are perfect for couples who want a medium to large guest count and to have all the friends and family being able to be there for the day with ease.

With a local wedding you can have a variety of sizes:

MICRO WEDDING: 10-20 Guests

SMALL WEDDING: 20-80 Guests

LARGE WEDDING: 80+ Guests

To find the perfect venue for your wedding be sure to decide on the theme and style of your wedding, the season and then start looking at venues and outdoor options for your wedding. Some ideas are parks, state parks, venues, photo studios, back yard, or an airbnb.

I love local weddings because of the emotion and excitement that family and friends bring to weddings. It is beautiful seeing so many people who love and support the couple all together.

ELOPEMENT

Elopements are perfect for couples who love nature, are very connected to each other and who want to share an intimate and romantic day.

Elopements are generally the couple, a photographer, videographer and optional would be an officiant and under 10 guests.

Some of the best backdrops for elopements is nature. There is such a big variety of options with mountains, desert, plains, and parks that really allow nature and the couple to have all the spotlight. Nature is also so pretty that it doesn’t need much if anything added to make it a perfect spot for an elopement!

Utah has some of the most picturesque elopement spots and these are a few of my favorite! Antelope Island, Bonneville Salt Flats, Cottonwood Canyon, Moab, West Desert, Sand Dunes and so much more! Other ideas are at the courthouse, Downtown SLC, a photo studio, a park, or a vibey hotel or airbnb.

I love shooting Elopements and have a list of places I’m dying to go to and will shoot for free or waived travel see the list here!

DESTINATION WEDDING

Destination Weddings are SO MUCH FUN!! They are perfect for the adventurous type. Destination weddings don’t have to be out of the country but can be!

Some people argue that destination weddings are harder and more expensive to plan, which is true in some cases but not always! Now days with plane tickets it cost just about as much to fly to Europe as is does to fly to the midwest or even the coasts, If family was already going to have to travel to attend your local wedding it is arguably close to the same cost in travel for them to attend your destination wedding (if the guests are paying their own way)

Destination weddings I think are best paired with a wedding weekend where you are able to spend time sight seeing, on a yacht, cooking classes in Italy or a beach or pool day at the hotel villa. It is fun and memorable to everyone involved.

A few destination places I am dying to visit and will travel or shoot for FREE! Tulum Mexico, Denmark, Spain, Guatemala… See More Here!
