Downtown Engagement Photos
Bridger and Jayson have such a sweet love story and even sweeter personalities. We met up at memory grove just before the sun set in the city with adorable dogs running around the park the whole time.
Bridger and Jaysons love story dates back to when they met back in high school and are still together. I could tell how in love they were and just how comfortable they were with each other. It was AN HONOR to be able to document even just one moment and glimpse of their relationship.
The whole time we were taking pictures I was like OHHH my goodness this is so beautiful and I was just so in love with the Italian architecture and Italian aesthetic and felt like it made the whole vibe of the shoot so fun. I then further fell in love with their session while editing and seeing everything that we created, the romance and energy of Bridger and Jayson… It just felt like so many memories and stories which was so special to see and feel that while editing.
I’m so grateful to these two for sharing their love story with me and allowing me to document this moment in time for them.

Downtown engagement photos have become one of my favorite types of engagement photos and inspiration, no matter what city. Downtown Salt Lake City is no exception of beautiful cities with amazing locations for photos.
Another reason why I love the downtown vibe and pictures is because no matter the weather or season they city looks beautiful and there isn’t normally a tell-tell sign of what season which is convenient if you are want pictures done in the winter but you don’t want it to feel wintery, cold or to see snow.If you want pictures done in the winter time but don’t want the snow or to be outdoors the whole time then a downtown photoshoot might just be what you are looking for!
As a photographer I have spent so much time exploring Salt Lake and coming up a with an extensive list of the best locations in downtown Salt Lake City, Memory Grove Park being one of them.

Find buildings that fit your style and vibe
My artistic approach and editing style of my pictures is what make the downtown city photos carry such emotion and movement to the pictures. My approach to sessions is getting to know you as a couple, and then base prompts, and poses off of you and your personality.
Some of my favorite outfit ideas for downtown engagement photos:
Casual Streetwear: This is usually oversized clothes, sweats, hats, sneakers, t - shirts, tank tops, crop tops
Normal Streetwear: Think trench coats, p coats, turtle necks, necklaces, trousers, loafers, sweaters, silk, crop tops
Formal Outfits: dresses, skirts, trousers and shirt or trousers and button up, slacks
I love recommend if your shoot is over an hour long doing two outfits, both in different categories as listed above.
I often love neutral color schemes but I also do love color when done correct, monochromatic color schemes, and complimentary colors are the safest way to go when adding in color. I also suggest muted, darker or pastel color when adding color into a outfit.
