WEDDING | MAY 08, 2023 | THE WHITE SHANTY, PROVO UTAH

Modern Vintage Wedding at the White Shanty | Mackenzie + Larson

I had the pleasure of photographing Mackenzie and Larson's beautiful wedding at the White Shanty in Provo, Utah. The couple had a modern vintage theme for their wedding, and they incorporated so many unique and personal details into their decor of which Mackenzie was so excited about! We were able to chat a few times while they were in the planning phase and Mackenzie really dumped her heart and soul into the decor and details of the day.

One of my favorite things about their wedding was the way they thrifted a lot of their decor. They found vintage glassware, stones, post cards and other items at thrift stores and flea markets. They also incorporated a lot of Italian-inspired elements into their decor, as they had lived in Italy for a few years and a big part of their story was in Italy. One of my favorite details of the day was they had vintage Italian and travel post cards to sign as a guest book, it was seriously so cute!

The couple's ceremony was held in the White Shanty's indoor space as well as their loft for getting ready. They exchanged vows under a beautiful archway with so many family and friends present who flew in just for the event from California.

The reception was held in the White Shanty's indoor and outdoor space which was a perfect option for the night since it was a nice warm summer night. They also had a photo station set up for guests to enjoy as well as a open bar, tacos and cookies.

Mackenzie and Larson's wedding was a beautiful and unique celebration of their love. They put so much thought and effort into every detail of their wedding, and it really showed.

Thrifting for Unique and Affordable Decor

Thrifting is a great way to find unique and affordable decor for your wedding. You can find vintage furniture, glassware, china, and other items at thrift stores and flea markets.

When thrifting for wedding decor, it is important to keep your overall theme in mind. Mackenzie and Larson knew that they wanted a modern vintage theme for their wedding, so they looked for items that fit that style.

Also kept in mind the size of your venue when thrifting. You don’t want to buy too much furniture or other large items unless you know the size and layout of your venue.

Venues like the White Shanty have a large variety of decor and furniture as well to make it easier if you just want to worry about smaller details rather than everything.
